Milan, 13 February 2023 – The evocative castle of Castel Brando, one of the largest in Europe, which dominates the Prosecco Hills, a Unesco World Heritage Site, will host the first edition of the International Stock Exchange for World Heritage Sites, scheduled from 31 May to June 1, 2023.

The Exchange will be an opportunity to promote the tourist offer that sees Italian and foreign World Heritage sites as destinations, but also to discuss and study UNESCO issues at an international level.

PROGRAM – On Wednesday 31 May, the BISPM program includes the b2b Workshop reserved for matching tourist supply and demand, exclusively dedicated to World Heritage sites.

There will be 50 selected Italian and foreign buyers who will have the opportunity to meet sellers who are based and operate in the areas included in the Unesco World Heritage List and who intend to promote the area, the accommodation facilities, the experiences and the culture of these areas.

Sellers must register for the workshop using the appropriate online form on the website www.bispm.com or by sending an email to info@bispm.com

The Exchange represents an opportunity to promote World Heritage sites and assets, the enhancement and animation activities related to them and the accommodation facilities located in World Heritage sites.

TOURISM, WORLD HERITAGE AND CLIMATE CHANGE – On the same day, there will also be an important meeting dedicated to the topical topic of “Tourism, World Heritage and climate change”. The climatic situation necessarily changes the approach to tourism, as well as representing a further challenge for operators in the sector, and facing this change becomes even more important when it comes to assets that are a World Heritage Site.

On this theme, UNESCO has created and shared the UNESCO World Heritage and Sustainable Tourism Programme, in order to affirm a new way of doing tourism, based on dialogue and cooperation between the various actors, in which the planning of tourism itself and heritage management are integrated at the destination level, so that natural and cultural assets are valorised and protected and appropriate tourist flows can be developed.

The meeting, organized by M & C Marketing Consulting in collaboration with the Italian Heritage World Heritage Association, will be attended by institutional representatives and representatives of Italian and international World Heritage sites, together with renowned experts. There will be present, as speakers, Matthew Emslie-Smith, World Heritage Monitoring Officer at IUCN, International Union for Conservation of Nature, Fergus Maclaren, President of the International Council on Monuments and Sites ICOMOS, Joseph King, Senior Director della Direzione Generale ICCROM, International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property.

The meeting will be an opportunity for discussion and exchange of practices between various representatives of European bodies and associations dedicated to the protection and enhancement of World Heritage, of Portugal, Spain, France, Austria, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Slovenia, Scandinavian countries and the Republic Czech.

The M & C Marketing Consulting agency organizes the International Tourism Exchange for World Heritage Sites. The event enjoys the patronage of Enit, the Veneto Region, the World Heritage Italian Heritage Association, the Italian Federation of Unesco Clubs FICLU, the European Federation of Unesco Clubs (FEACU).
